Why ‘The Daily Show’ should be on ‘The Colbert Report’
The Daily Show host Jon Stewart has said the show should be given an “exclusive” spot on Stephen Colbert’s The Colbert Report because he’s “been very supportive of [the] show.”
“It’s like, ‘Who’s this guy?’
So I think, ‘Well, if he wants to come to the show, I’d like to see him on the show,'” Stewart told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Thursday.”
But I’m not sure we’re going to get an exclusive because it’s a show that I love,” he continued.
“I mean, I know there are people who like Colbert’s show.
I’m just not sure that’s going to be the case.”
Stewart also took a shot at Colbert, saying he doesn’t think he can get a “real-time response” from him, even though Colbert is the host of the hit CBS show.
“I think I’m going to need to get a real-time reply from him.
I think I’ve got a real life to live.
It’s not going to happen,” Stewart said.”
He’s not a real person, he’s not my friend, he doesnt know me,” Stewart continued.”
Its just a show and I have to do it, and I dont like doing it.”
Stewarts comments come as Colbert and his team prepare to air their weekly “Late Show” program, which will air Monday night.
The “Late Night” hosts will be joined by a cast of celebrities, including Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Chris Rock, James Corden, Will Ferrell, Jon Stewart, Chelsea Handler, John Oliver and Sarah Silverman.
