How to build a $5 million digital marketing event, startup founder says
An Anchorage digital marketing entrepreneur is raising $5M in Series A funding from Sequoia Capital, Digital Marketing Association, and others.
David Pritchard, CEO of Digital Marketing Alliance, said his company has been working on its business model since 2015.
He told Polygon that he was inspired to do this due to how difficult it is for startups to raise money in the early stages.
Pritcher said that the company is also planning on expanding into other areas of digital marketing.
“We believe the growth opportunities we are seeing are for a very specific type of company, and we see opportunity for other startups to be able to expand into that space,” he said.
Pritchard said he hopes to have a more comprehensive platform by the end of the year.
He also said that Digital Marketing Associations will be adding a $10M fund to its portfolio.
“Our hope is that we will have a strong foundation to grow over the next year and a half, but we are also focused on making our products and services accessible to a wider audience,” Pritich said.
In a tweet posted on Friday, Digital Media Alliance CEO Michael Clements said that his company’s founders and employees have been “working with Digital Marketing” for the past year.
“While we have not had a lot of visibility into the development of our product or service, the early days were an excellent opportunity to test our idea with a real customer,” he wrote.
